CD Review by Aubrey McInnis DEATHRAY S/T Capricorn · New-wave/post-pop outfit featuring Greg Brown and Victor Damiani (Cake); for fans of Weezer and Fountains of Wayne. These guys must have been Mouskateers, too, because this album has "hit" written all over it. With soaring synth-pop that secretly camouflages the odd shard of pessimism, Deathray leap from the ranks of just another pop rock band. This spunky five-piece consistently serve up unyieldingly hooky gems that sparkle with effervescent wittiness and singalong ability. About as good as sucking Dr. Pepper through red licorice. 3/5
