The Good Jacket Presents Vancouver Special
Mint

· Proceeds go to support the Vancouver meals-on-wheels program, A Loving Spoonful, which provides nutritious meals for people living with AIDS and HIV.

· This staggering 24-track Vancouver compilation is a tribute to and presented by The Good Jacket – a store that offered hip vintage threads which recently closed its doors.

Here’s a diverse slice of indie rock set to be the soundtrack of all your summer road trips. From the flawless pop explosion of The New Pornographers & Neko and the dreamy ’60s splendour of The Radio and The Battles, to the three-chord renegade fun of the Riff Randells, this comp is full of tunes that smile from ear to ear. Diversity is offered with a spoken-word track (Thea Bowering) and plenty of unique instrumental voyages led by The Secret Three (think western campfire), Clover Honey (rock), Full Sketch (ghoul-ish rock) and an ambient match staged between Loscil and Destroyer. The cherry on top is Thee Goblins unabashedly begging to play a hockey game intermission with their hilarious minute-and-a-half tribute "The Good Jacket Theme."

With almost as many girl-fronted tracks as guy-fronted tracks and every second of the CD dripping with sugary, shimmering harmonies of a sublime nature, don’t be surprised if ensuing wanderlust leads you to straight to Vancouver.
