Proposed Sarcee extension similar to Deerfoot Trail

Experts on criminal behaviour and the law will share their insight on topics ranging from serial killers to hate crimes to wrongful convictions next week at The Realities of Life and Justice Conference at Mount Royal College (MRC).

The event has an impressive roster of speakers, including Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, executive director of The Association in Defense of the Wrongfully Convicted, who spent 22 years in jail before he was released.

Most of the other speakers come from a different perspective – law enforcement: Dr. Robert Hare is actively involved with an FBI university research team studying sadistic, psychopathic serial killers; Sgt. Jim Fishers is national coordinator for intelligence on Asian Organized Crime in Canada; Gail Stern is the U.S. mid-west director for fact-finding and training for the Anti-Defamation League; William H. Allee is chief of detectives for the New York City Police Department; and Roy Hazelwood is an expert on the sadistic serial killer.

The conference takes place from March 20 to 23. Call 240-3833 for more information.
