CHAPPAQUIDDICK SKYLINE
S/T
Sub Pop

· Joe Pernice’s (Scud Mountain Boys, Pernice Brothers) latest project.

Like the aftermath of a nervous breakdown, Joe Pernice’s new album sounds like streaming audio from the anguished mind of someone who's still hiding beneath the covers in the mid-afternoon. From self-loathing declarations to lovelorn tragedy – all couched in superb, bittersweet melodies – Pernice has crafted a Shakespearean tragedy on record. And although the lonesome subject matter may unearth some hurtin’, Chappaquiddick Skyline is a beautiful, glistening, acoustic pop gem that manages to be comforting through the unyielding warmth and compassion of Pernice's tranquil voice.
