Fantasy, fetish and leather lovers have a busy two days ahead with 3SM of Calgary’s third annual The Ides of March fetish/ fantasy/ workshop weekend on March 10 and 11.

The event includes an expanded format of 15 workshops running from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., complete with a box lunch, a presentation by guest speaker Hardy Haberman, National Leather Association International’s "Man of the Year," and an evening play party. Stephen Lock, one of the organizers, says the workshops include topics such as negotiating a scene, spirituality and ritual, hot wax and electrical play, SM and the law, and clips, clamps and clothespins.

"The workshops all deal with various applications of leather culture and SM, either from a historical perspective or a (practical) perspective," he explains.

This year also introduces the new Fetish and Fantasy Social, to be held Friday evening, and attendees are invited to present fantasies for exposure of their talents and public entertainment. For a look back in time, Alberta Leather Archival items will be on display throughout the weekend.

The Ides of March takes place at the Calgary Multicultural Centre (712 - 5th Street S.E.), and weekend packages, day passes and individual event tickets are available in advance only, although people can still register Saturday morning. For more information or to register call B&B Leathers (265-7789), Don Bastian (276-2471) or Stephen Lock (266-9175).
