News by FFWD Staff Friends of Medicare’s province-wide public discussion on the provincial government’s for-profit health care proposal comes to Calgary this week. A forum will be held Wednesday, February 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hillhurst/Sunnyside Community Centre (1320 - 5th Avenue NW). The guest speakers include: Christine Burdett, chair of Friends of Medicare; Kevin Taft, researcher and author of Shredding the Public Interest; Gillian Steward, formerly managing editor of the Calgary Herald; and Calgary’s Raging Grannies.
