Stranger-than-usual chase scenes
by John Tebbutt· Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979): Brian, pursued by Roman soldiers, falls off the top of a tower and lands in a passing UFO. The alien pilots seem baffled by Brian's presence in their cockpit, but a bigger problem is an enemy spaceship that shoots them down. Brian staggers from the wreckage and an amazed onlooker says "You lucky bastard!" before the chase resumes.
· Hell up in Harlem (1973): A big chase leads to the airport where the villain catches a plane to California. The hero gets on the next available flight, they both land in LA and the chase continues. Final chase distance: 3000 miles.
· Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989): Two bionic characters fight ceaselessly, becoming more cybernetic and less human as the battle progresses. They both sprout rockets from their heels and careen through the city streets via pixilated animation.
· Crimewave (1985): Louise Lasser runs through an impressive security display - "The world's safest hallway" - locking dozens of heavy doors behind her. Unstoppable brute Paul Smith pursues her, crashing through doors like they were paper.
· Macolm (1986): A specially designed getaway car fleeing from the scene of a crime splits in half and goes off in two different directions. The police are astonished, as is the accomplice in the passenger side.
· Mad Mission 3: Our Man from Bond Street (aka Aces Go Places 3) (1983): Okay, Sam, our hero, runs after the sexy woman who shot at him with a bazooka. Along the way, she changes outfits three times and joins a marching band. Then two classic James Bond villains show up and chase Sam up the Eiffel Tower where he jumps into the Seine. Our hero makes good headway with his pocket aqualung and jet shoes, but a giant mechanical shark / submarine suddenly looms up behind him....
